Leadership Development
have a voice, take charge

Have fun, learn something new and become a leader by joining one of the groups on this page.

Leadership Center for Excellence Program: A Youth Program designed to enhance leadership skills and awareness of the need for philanthropy, community service and civic participation in rising high school juniors and seniors. Two weeks in the summer, the program meets at different public, private and nonprofit locations throughout Arlington County, exposing participants to diverse organizations and providing them the opportunity to meet with local leaders during this hands-on, experiential program.

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA):  As students take responsibility for planning, implementing, and evaluating special projects and activities, they develop the skills needed to take the lead in their families, careers and communities.

Boy Scouts of America: As a Scout, you can learn how to camp and hike without leaving a trace and how to take care of the land. You’ll study wildlife up close and learn about nature all around you.

Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital : Girls can learn valuable skills while traveling the world, joining a troop or working alone.

Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington: The Boys & Girls Club has a variety of teen leadership groups.
